This Bible study tool has been designed as a part of the Christian discipleship program at The Kirk (a church in Tulsa, OK), but can be used by anyone interested in pursuing spiritual transformation.
If you are a Christian, then the Bible says we are New Creations! In 2 Corinthians 5.17 the Apostle Paul says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; the old has gone and the new has come!”
BUT we have an Identity Crisis! If we’re honest, there seems to be a lot of that old creation hanging around. We say things, do things, think things, and act in ways that reflect more our old self than this new self. So what are we to do?
Take Action! In Colossians 3.5 Paul says, “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature...” and, in 3.10, “put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”
This is not a Bible study curriculum or devotion– it’s a tool for spiritual transformation designed to help you easily record the things you’re learning in sermons, Sunday School classes, Bible Studies, small groups, your own quiet devotion times, etc., and both organize & prayerfully reflect on them within four broad areas of discipleship: Christian character, spiritual disciplines, Biblical wisdom and service.
